A Honeymoon of Adventure!

Filed under: A Rachel Reeves BLOG, Honeymoons, Your Future (After the Wedding) — Rachel Reeves - BrideAndGroomPlanner.com @ 12:43 pm

Just when you think the fun of the wedding is over, you are off on your honeymoon.  Honeymoons can be adventurous to relaxing.  I prefer the relaxing!  However, many brides and grooms are looking to experience a honeymoon of sightseeing, rock climbing, hiking and even camping.  While I personally don’t even think of camping as a vacation, let alone a honeymoon, there are lots of couples who would disagree.

Many exciting countries offer a variety of adventurous opportunities for brides and grooms.  Ecotourism is also becoming more and more popular.  Experience native jungles and rain forests by backpacking through Costa Rica!

Whatever your vacation tastes may be, select the honeymoon that you will remember for a lifetime.

Finding A Job For Everyone

Filed under: A Rachel Reeves BLOG, Ceremony — Rachel Reeves - BrideAndGroomPlanner.com @ 11:49 am

As you start to choose your wedding party, you may find that you have more friends than positions needed.  Some brides will have up to 14 or more bridesmaids to accomidate all their friends.  Don’t feel the pressure to include every friend in your wedding party.  You can also consider giving friends and family responsibilities doesn’t require buying a dress they will never wear again!

Ask a friend or in-law to be to do a reading or manage the guest book.  You will also need some help with personal items.  Many times you will get ready at the church and then leave for the reception immediately after.  Ask a close aunt to help you gather all your personal items and make sure they get to the reception.

If you can’t find a set role for someone, include them in some of the decision making.  Ask them to preview a hall or go to a tasting with you.

Do You Have a Momzilla!

If you are wondering what a Momzilla is exactly, you probably don’t have one.  However, if you have a mom or mother-in-law to be that is a little out of control, you may have Momzilla.  Some brides find themselves living out the wedding fantasy of their moms.  From the dress to the reception, mom has an opinion of how things should be.  While input is usually appreciated, a Momzilla will take over the day and forget the focus is about the bride.

Where it gets tricky is that many times the parents are paying for the wedding and feel that their input trumps the opinions of the happy couple.  The reality is that if they are footing the bill, you may have to put up with some decisions you don’t agree with in the end.

So if your mom is throwing a tantrum when things don’t go her way, politely remind her that it is your day and while you want her to be a part of it, you need to create the wedding of YOUR dreams.
