Planning the music is a good job for the groom.

Filed under: Event Planning, Music & Entertainment — info@fontainebleaustrings.com @ 11:06 am

Fontainebleau Strings knows how to put together a program of music that is joyful, appropriate, and fresh. Hum a few bars or give us a title. Or let us pick it out–we’ll make it the easiest part of the wedding plans. In fact, it’s so easy the groom can do it. Brides, you and your mom have enough to do! Consider putting HIM in charge of the music. It’s not like he’s going to pick out the wrong color.

Wedding Blog Was Spammed - We Apologize

The Big Wedding Blog was briefly infiltrated by some very crude and offensive pornography.

Evidently our comment filters were somehow overridden.

To prevent this in the future we have put a total administrative review/block on all comments. ALL comments, as well as postings will be reviewed directly by Blog Admin from this point on. We will not depend on spam filters at all.

We apologize to all who received any inappropirate and offensive material. We feel confident that there were no viruses spread during this infiltration of pornography.

With these new admin proceedures now in place, our industry (merchants and brides) can again confidently and securely depend on The Big Wedding Blog. The BIG Wedding Blog remains committed to being the most widely read and distributed source of information for today’s bride.

Please accept our apologies, e-mail any comments directly to blogAdmin@brideandgroomplanner.com

Wedding DJ got the Party Going but was an Obnoxious Master of Ceremony.

Filed under: Music & Entertainment, Receptions — Editor - The Big Wedding Blog @ 4:34 pm

I was recently at a wedding where the Master of Ceremony (the DJ) acted like a rock station DJ during the introduction of the wedding party, the cutting of the cake, and the bouquet/garter toss. I thought it was overdone. I kept waiting for the him to take a break for “news and weather”. He was out of character with the classiness of the event.

Starting early in the evening with his best “Wolfman Jack” imitation may be out of place. A good DJ knows how to build the tempo gradually. Being a great DJ for a wedding should mean being able to “read the crowd” and get the party going at just the right time. It also means setting the tone for the type of party that the bride and groom has indicated that they want. The event should start with formality, etiquette and some elegance.

So when do you crank it up?? When you see the old folks leaving.
